Detailed Itinerary for Chardham Yatra from Haridwar 2024

  • Haridwar – Barkot Day 01
    • Travel Duration: 7-8 hours
    • Highlights: Breakfast in Haridwar, Ganga bath, Kampty Falls (optional)
    • Details: Begin your journey from Haridwar after a refreshing breakfast and an early morning bath in the Ganga. The drive to Barkot typically takes 7-8 hours with a break at Kampty Falls if preferred. Otherwise, reach Barkot in approximately 6 hours with nonstop travel. During peak season, traffic in Mussoorie may cause delays, so an alternative route via Vikas Nagar may be chosen. Dinner and overnight stay in Barkot.
  • Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot Day 02
    • Travel Duration: Early morning departure
    • Highlights: Janki Chatti, Hanuman Chatti, Fool Chatti, 6 km trek to Yamunotri, Garam Kund, Shree Yamunotri Ji
    • Details: Depart early for Janki Chatti via Hanuman Chatti & Fool Chatti. Embark on a 6 km trek to Yamunotri. Upon arrival, take a holy dip in Garam Kund, followed by Pooja and Darshan of Shree Yamunotri Ji. Return to Barkot in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Barkot.
      • Hanuman Chatti: Confluence of Hanuman Ganga and Yamuna River.

      • Rituals & Activities: Perform Abhishek Puja at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, visit Parasar Muni Temple, and bathe in the hot water spring (Tapt Kund) at Ganganani.
  • Uttarkashi – Harsil Day 04
    • Places: Uttarkashi – Ganganani – Gangotri – Harsil – Uttarkashi

  • Sitapur – Phata Day 06
    • Places: Sitapur – Phata/Sirsi – Kedarnath – Phata – Sitapur
    • Travel Duration: Variable based on mode of travel
    • Highlights: Trek to Kedarnath
    • Details: Prepare for the most challenging part of the Yatra – the darshan of Shri Kedarnath Ji. Trekkers will drive to Sonprayag-Gaurikund and trek 19 km to Kedarnath. Overnight stay in Kedarnath.
      • Rituals & Activities: Visit Gauri Kund, Darshan of Kedarnath Ji Temple, Bhim Shila, and meet Gurus and Sadhus.
  • Return to Sitapur Day 07

  • Sitapur / Chopta – Badrinath Day 08
